In this tribute to Ella Fitzgerald, jazz chanteuse Jennine Bailey performs classics such as How High the Moon, the beautiful ballad Somewhere Over the Rainbow and popular jazz standard Mack the Knife, accompanied by some of New Zealand's finest jazz talent.
American jazz singer, Ella Fitzgerald was known as the 'First Lady of Song.' With an extraordinary vocal range, she sold more than 40 million albums and won 13 Grammy Awards in a career spanning 59 years. She could sing sultry ballads, sweet jazz and imitate every instrument in an orchestra.
Jennine Bailey is regarded as one of New Zealand's top jazz singers, with a sultry smooth voice and witty repartee. Her fresh and original interpretation of jazz and pop tunes has seen her perform in musicals and stage productions as well as festivals throughout the country.
Jazz singing doesn't get much better than this – a wonderful tribute to one of the great singing legends of our time.
A lifetime of dedication to the harmonica has seen Nola perform both nationally and internationally. In this set she performs some of her favourites with the backing of Tom Rainey (piano), Mike Story (bass), Ted Meager (drums) and Bob Heinz (guitar).

One Foot in the Blues features Barbara Fox (piano and vocal), Blair Allchurch (guitars and vocal), and Billy Valance (harmonicas and vocal). A common love of the blues has led to the formation of this uniquely talented trio and have, since their inception, performed regularly around Canterbury garnering an ever increasing legion of fans.
Lyttelton based Runaround Sue's blend of country and rock n' roll swagger showcase the best set of lungs in the port, Anthea Struthers (vocals) and her band of bluesful devotees; Jesse Newman (guitar), Dan Johnson (bass), Hayley P (backing vocals) and Stephen McCarthy (drums). Their debut album, rescued from the inner city, is out soon and you can hear their standout track Weeping Willow as part of the Harbour Union compilation CD.
With a passion for the blues, and influenced by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy and Albert King, Bobby Lee is a prolific musician in the Christchurch blues scene who has been playing in bands since the age of 15.
